Gluten Free Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients

  • Mrs. Leeper Gluten Free Beef Stroganoff Dinner (pasta, sauce mix)
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cup low fat (2%) milk
  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 lb round steak or top sirloin steak (cut in to 1/2" by 2" strips) or (1 lb turkey or chicken breast strips cut in 1/2" by 2" strips)
  • 1 tsp dry basil
  • 1 oz dry white wine (optional)
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 small container Sour cream
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil

Instructions

Cut meat in 1/2" by 2" strips. Dice 2 tbsp onion very fine. Season meat with salt and pepper. Heat skillet on high, add 1 tbsp olive oil. Add cut meat and saute for 2-3 minutes or until done. Turn heat down to medium and add onion, continue cooking for 2-3 minutes. Add wine and reduce 30 seconds or so, then add water, milk, butter and basil. Whisk in Mrs. Leepers Beef Stroganoff Dinner sauce mix, bring to a simmer. Add pasta and cook for 9-10 minutes or until pasta is tender. Stir regularly to avoid sticking.
